I'm currently a physics major, going into my final year (as of this writing). Upon obtaining my undergraduate science degree I'll be entering the education program and getting my teaching license. I write in my free time, and this site is the product of that.
It started out as a creative outlet, a fount of irreverence, and a source of amusement for myself and perhaps others. However, in helping me to rediscover writing, it's really opened the floodgates for me.
I've since taken to writing articles at my school newspaper, the now defunct RedRover webzine, where I was also an editor, and through my recently awarded position as reviewer at Green Man Review.
Perhaps the writing excursions dearest to my heart, however, are my relatively recent attempts at short fiction. I'm still in the process of trying to sell most of my completed pieces to various magazines, but I do have a few scribblings and the results of writing exercises available on this site. Non-fiction articles are fine, but if I could be a published fiction writer, possibly even succeeding to the point of it being a viable full-time career, I could never ask for more. Either way, I'll keep writing.
I owe much thanks to my lovely host, Kung Fuk Oala, and the people running it, for encouragement and help. Rob particularly helped me in the current site design, sending me plenty of useful links and tips. Web design is not my forte, but it's worth all the work if it makes my content better organized and more accessible. That said, I certainly hope you enjoy your stay.
